THE SETTING : Arresto Momentum is an Alternate Universe Harry Potter canon only roleplay site which follows the canon till the trio's fifth year and deviates from the battle of department of mysteries.
THE PAST : Voldemort has died in the hands of the Order of the Phoenix's leader, Albus Dumbledore in the Battle of Hogwarts on the Halloween of 1996. Many death eaters have died that day including Bellatrix Lestrange, Lucius Malfoy, Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange. Peter Pettigrew died in the hands of Voldemort when he suspected Peter to be the spy in his ranks who has passed the information to the Order about his attack on Hogwarts. While most of the death eaters have been captured and sent to Azkaban, the remaining have fled away and have been hiding ever since and not heard of.
THE PRESENT : Nine months have passed since that Halloween and life has been great for the Golden trio who have completed their sixth year without any disruptions. Currently it is summer and the trio are getting ready for their upcoming school year of 1997-1998.But there is some stirring in the dark side, they have gained a new leader and they plan to reveal their presence to the world. Who is the new leader? Will they be successful? Or will the Order of the Phoenix find out out soon and subdue it before another war breaks out.
WHAT SETS AM APART FROM OTHER SITES : Your favourite characters' are all living and breathing ! As AM deviates from canon and the war was won a year before, many of the character deaths were avoided. Thus you can play as Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and as Fred Weasley even.
None of the characters relationship status is set in stone. So you are free to play a character without the obligation of following the canon pairing.
Apart from the major canons, the faces of all the other characters mentioned in the book are open for you to choose.
There would be House points to earn and roulettes to participate in.
Site wide events would be conducted marking the important dates like Halloween, Christmas, New year's, Easter and Valentine's Day. There is a chance to win exciting prizes on IC and OOC level.
The site is fairly new with the canon characters open to play.
